PRESTONPANS CELEBRATES VICTORY

The Prestonpans Tapestry celebrates the enduring triumph of youthful Hope and Ambition.

The journey 25 year old Bonnie Prince Charlie made from France then through the Scottish Highlands to Victory at Prestonpans is depicted in 104 metre wide embroidered panels.

Each has been created by volunteers along the route.

TAPESTRY PARADE

From July 2010 the Prestonpans Tapestry is on tour across the communities where the prince travelled in 1745. Any community wishing to receive the Tapestry please get in touch by email at waukin@battleofprestonpans1745.org

HOW THE TAPESTRY WAS EMBROIDERED

Led by Dorie Wilkie [Senior Stitcher], more than 200 embroiderers made over 10 million stitches, over 25,000 hours.
